Winner Ricky Craven’s Epic Battle With
Kurt Busch In The Closest Finish In
The History Of NASCAR Winston Cup Racing
We are pleased to announce the "100th Race At Darlington" original painting. This artwork documents winner Ricky Craven in the Tide PPI Motorsports Pontiac and the epic battle with Kurt Busch in the Sharpie Rubbermaid Roush Racing Ford creating the closest finish in the history of NASCAR Winston Cup Racing at the famed Darlington Raceway March 16, 2003.
The original painting was commissioned by Darlington Raceway to commemorate this great race. The artwork was created by artist Garry Hill, who is best known for his depictions of NASCAR’s greatest moments, victories and historic races.
The painting documents the “100th Race At Darlington” and the historic aspect of the closest finish in NASCAR’s premier division. “It is indeed a great honor to create this work for Darlington Raceway. I am a huge fan of the raceway and the extraordinary races that have occurred there that have contributed so much to NASCAR’s history, tradition and success,” said Hill.
A selected limited number of prints were also created for ticket renewal patrons of the Carolina Dodge Dealer’s 400 at Darlington Raceway. The original painting is now part of the Darlington Raceway collection and will be displayed in the Darlington Museum located adjacent to the raceway.
